If the decision was ever made to eliminate separate instruction in art, music, technology and library at the elementary school, the academic standards associated with those subjects would be taught during the instructional day by the certified elementary education teachers.
In all the years and all the courses my son has taken at the High School, he has only ever mentioned the Blended Schools for one course. The same goes for his friends (in my very informal poll). If this goes for the majority of students (and my suspicion is that it does), can you not look at cutting that program in an effort to save some of these jobs (not just teachers)? What is the cost of this program? What is its value in relation to saving jobs?
ReplyDeleteAgreed, the system would work if all factors were equal. My son has had more than one uploaded assignment lost due to this program and its problems as well. And due to zero tolerance he is in danger of failing english this year. Teachers that do not update grades could be a wieghting factor for decisions as well. It is funny that the teachers that are on the chopping block are the ones that are using the resources properly. Most don't understand how to use it at all, grades take weeks to update and I am riding my son for no reason most days.
